What happened to Tiger Woods | Tiger woods dui. Following a rollover collision in Florida, Tiger Woods was detained and accused of DUI.
After being involved in a two-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon that caused his Land Rover to turn onto its side, Tiger Woods was detained and imprisoned on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
The golfer had “signs of impairment” when police arrived at the scene of the collision on Jupiter Island, Florida, where Woods resides, according to Martin County Sheriff John M. Budensiek during a press conference. Woods declined a urinalysis even though a breathalyser test revealed no alcohol in his system. As a result, he was arrested and brought to the Martin County Jail, where he is required to stay for a minimum of eight hours. To meet that criterion, Woods will be detained until at least 11 p.m.
He was accused of DUI, causing property damage, and refusing to take a valid test. The two accusations are misdemeanours.
According to Budensiek, the collision happened when Woods, operating a Land Rover, attempted to pass a truck carrying a pressure washer trailer while travelling north on South Beach Road. When the driver of the truck noticed the Land Rover approaching from behind while trying to turn left on a two-lane road, he attempted to get off the road but was unable to do so. After clipping the vehicle, the Land Rover rolled onto its side.
Budensiek said that Woods climbed out through the passenger’s side of his vehicle, and that neither driver was injured.
According to Budensiek, “Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment.” They put him through a number of examinations. He did describe his injuries and operations, and we took that into consideration. However, after extensive roadside testing was completed, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Martin County Jail.
